Spinal Surgery Enabling Technology and Advanced Imaging Research Fellow

Full-Time 9am-5pm

This position will involve conducting and managing research activities on a new multi-disciplinary collboration project between the Departments of Spine Surgery and Radiology and Imaging. This project involves utilizing specialized MRI image processing techniques developed at HSS, and translating these to clinical applications in image-guided navigation and robotic spine surgery. The position is at HSS for minimum 1-2 years.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Author peer-reviewed publications, and present work at clinical and international scientific conferences
  • Write and contribute to research study proposals
  • Perform advanced image analysis and statistical analysis
  • Present research updates during bi-weekly lab meetings involving surgeons, radiologists, and scientists
  • Operate specialized and general laboratory equipment
  • Act as research project core team leader from project conception to final testing to submission
  • Coordinate and prioritize activities of technical staff and project coordinators
  • Seek opportunities to author peer-reviewed publications and to present work at academic meetings


EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUREMENTS:

M.D., Ph.D., or Master equivalent
